Alghero.
One of the main towns in Sardinia, is the gateway to the Island, thanks to its Airport situated very near to the town. It is know as the Coral Riviera for its precious red Coral found off the coast by divers. For centuries the "Red Gold" has had its economic importance, infact a branch of Coral can be seen in the Town's coat of arms. The old Town is still intact with its medieval towers and walls, the busy marina, plenty of shop, cafes etc. |

Surroundings.
Nearby one can visit archaeological sites such as the necropolis of Anghelu Ruju, the Nuraghe Palmavera, and the Neptune's Caves reached by boat or by land and from mount Doglia one can have lovely views of both the bays of Alghero and Porto Conte.

Still not far from Alghero is the Lake Baratz and the beach of Porto Ferro. But for subathing and swimming are the famous beaches of Le Bombarde, Punta Negra, Maria Pia and Lazzareto nearby.

For nice walks enjoy the sand dunes from Alghero to Fertilia.
Diving is very popular and very well organized. Underwater one can discover all the mediterranean sea-life, including the Red Lobster "the Queen of the table".
